Lexus just offered up some early test drives of the Lexus IS in prototype form, and now the brand has confirmed that the car will debut during the 2013 Detroit Auto Show.
The new IS, much like the Cadillac ATS, set the BMW 3 Series as its benchmark, trying to find the right balance between performance and luxury. It takes styling cues from the LF-CC concept, and takes interior hints from the LFA, including the same digital gauge cluster.

Engine specs are yet to be released, but there will be two trim lines, with the IS250 offering a six-speed auto box, while the IS350 will come with an eight-speed auto.
Based on a shared architecture with the GS, the IS grows slightly for 2014 with a more rigid chassis and softer springs. The new IS also gets a Drive Mode Selector on IS250 models that will offer eco, normal and sport modes, while 350 models will gain sport plus.
